Revisiting Deimos: Arcana in 2026: Bonewidow, New Kitguns, and Infested Chaos
I am a Tenno who has seen every major Warframe update since the early days, and in 2026 I still find myself returning to Deimos. But one update stands out like a fresh Infested wound: Deimos: Arcana. It landed hot on the heels of Nezha Prime and the concluded Nights of Naberus Halloween event, and it was meant to satisfy Warframe fans ahead of the game's next-gen update. Back then, I remember logging in, staring at the orange sky of Mars's most Infested moon, and wondering how much more chaos Digital Extremes could squeeze into one patch. The answer, as always, was a lot.

Bonewidow: My New Favorite Necramech
The headline addition was Bonewidow, Warframe's second Necramech. I had already fallen in love with Voidrig, but Bonewidow felt different. It is a Warhammer-inspired mecha with a shield and a sword, which means you can both bash and stab your enemies. My favorite trick? Impaling Infested Runners and then throwing them at more Infested for additional crowd control. It is disgusting. It is glorious. It is exactly what I want from a Deimos update. The handy rocket launcher has two barrels, so you get double the mayhem. In 2026, when I take Bonewidow into Isolation Vaults, I still feel like a walking tank with a grudge.
Augment Mods That Changed My Builds
Next came Augment Mods for Garuda, Gauss, Revenant, and Wisp. I spent a whole evening testing these, and they reshaped several of my loadouts.
| Warframe | Augment | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Garuda | Blending Talons | Turns Seeking Talons into an AOE attack and gives additional combo counter when hitting bleeding targets. |
| Gauss | Mach Crash | Sucks in enemies caught in the wake of Mach Rush. |
| Revenant | Thrall Pact | Gives a 25% damage buff to his primary weapon for each active thrall. |
| Wisp | Critical Surge | Lowers Breach Surge cost when traveling to reservoirs and gives a sniper rifle damage buff. |
I still use Mach Crash when I want to group enemies for a quick AoE clear. Thrall Pact makes Revenant feel like a one-frame army. And Critical Surge turned my Wisp into a sniper support monster. If you missed these mods in 2020, do yourself a favor and revisit them in 2026.
New Weapons, Kitguns, and Arcanes
Deimos: Arcana also added the Catabolyst Pistol, Proboscis Cernos Bow, Pulmonars Nunchaku, and the Bubonico Arm Cannon to Warframe's arsenal. I remember farming for the Bubonico because I wanted a shotgun that felt like it came from a nightmare. The Proboscis Cernos became one of my favorite bows for crowd control, and the Catabolyst had that gross, satisfying reload. A set of all-new Infested Kit Guns and Arcanes also arrived, with Father being the vendor to watch for Kit Gun pieces. I spent hours trading resources and checking his inventory.

Entrati Quality of Life and New Creatures
Speaking of the Entrati, Grandma's Remedy Workshop let Tenno trade in resources for Family Tokens to make the grind for standing a little easier. That was a huge quality-of-life change for me. I no longer felt punished for having a million spare resources and no tokens. Daughter added two new fish to catch, and Son added two new species to tranq and capture. The Undazoa is a frog-like creature, while the Nexifera is probably something you should not stand beneath. I learned that the hard way. 🐸
Cosmetics, Bounties, and the Mitosid Menace
New K-Drive skins, Gara Deluxe cosmetics, and four new underground levels with new Isolation Vault bounties rounded out Deimos: Arcana's offerings. I loved the verticality of the new vaults, even when I got lost. And then there was the new Mitosid enemy. It splits in two if you shoot it in the wrong spot, so take careful aim when you fight it. I cannot count how many times I accidentally created two problems while trying to solve one. 😅
Why Deimos: Arcana Still Matters in 2026
Deimos: Arcana arrived later today on PC, according to the original announcement, and it left a mark that I still feel in 2026. It was not just a content drop. It was a reminder that Warframe can still surprise me with a sword-and-shield mecha, a bow that shoots infested tentacles, and a frog that I absolutely must capture. If you are a returning Tenno, or a new one who missed this era, the Deimos: Arcana additions are still worth your time. The game has changed a lot since then, but Bonewidow, the new Kitguns, and the Mitosid chaos remain part of the reason I keep coming back.
